Fast Forward

I knew it had been a while since I checked in at Sprayblog Five; I just didn't know it had been that long. I don't have the time, patience or memory to fill in gaps since that last post in 2008; and, I imagine anyone reading would find that a relief. So I'll just fast forward to the present and primary reason I've dusted off the blogwebs (ooh, that's corny). The Sprayberry Five have big plans on the horizon (i.e, this fall). No, I'm not referring to UGA Football. Shocking, I know. We had initially planned to road-trip to Colorado (yes, for the Dawgs); instead, we are heading to Kenya for a short-term medical mission trip. David and I have been discussing and praying about taking one for a while now.
Why Africa? It's the place God put on our hearts and a place where there is a need we can fill. Why now? God has made it obvious that now is the time (I'll share more about that in a future post). Why all 5 of us? Hmmmm; just kidding. Despite offers from an unnamed grandparent to keep the kids for 26 days; we want to take them. To be honest, we aren't thrilled about the 34 hours of plane-time togetherness (our youngest 2 haven't even been on a plane, unless you count Elvis's jet at Graceland.) Sorry for the tangent.... we do want to experience this as a family. David will work in the pediatric unit at Kijabe Hospital. Kijabe is located about an hour northwest of Nairobi. See red dot northwest of Nairobi (you may need to click to zoom; hopefully it's not just me). There will be more info in future posts, but I'm fading so that's it for now. At least we're up to date.
